Introduction

A well-known Fashion Retailer based in Capetown has an exciting opportunity for a Technical Manager II: Support and Operations, ITS to join their team.

Description

Duties (will include but not limited to):

  • To manage the Operations, QA and Support team within Online IT, utilising experience and skills in architecting, building, testing and maintaining an automated, secure and scalable continuous delivery pipeline in a high-availability environment. This is a 12 month contract position based at the Head Office in Cape Town City Centre
  • Build and manage a motivated, skilled team covering the Operations, QA and Support functions within Online IT
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with business, suppliers and IT
  • Utilise a solid understanding of DevSecOps and its application in building a continuous delivery pipeline in a high-availability environment
  • Liaise and coordinate with development teams in build processes, testing and release management
  • Investigate new tools suitable for the DevOps environment within Online IT and apply solutions to optimise a continuous delivery environment
  • Architect, design, implement and support an automated, secure and scalable delivery pipeline to streamline the development and deployment process
  • Manage the QA function, building test cases and packs, maintaining test case libraries and testing all releases across environments
  • Plan, schedule and manage all change and releases across all environments
  • Compile and distribute release artefacts for each release
  • Manage the Support team, ensuring efficient incident and problem management procedures

Education

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 year IT qualification
  • At least 6 - 8 years relevant experience
  • Team lead/management experience

Required Skills:

  • Solid hands-on experience in software engineering and DevOps roles
  • Team management experience
  • Experience in provisioning infrastructure and applications for distributed development and testing teams
  • Experience in project work with working knowledge of project management methods
  • Solid understanding of DevSecOps and its application in building a streamlined continuous delivery pipeline
  • Proven track record in change and release management in a continuous delivery environment
  • Experience in Python or similar languages
  • Experience in technologies such as AWS, Windows Server, Jenkins, Docker and Linux
  • Experience with source code build (e.g. ant, maven, gradle) and source code management tools (e.g. svn, Git, TFS)
  • Experience in implementing and using industry standard monitoring tools and technologies
  • Experience with test automation tools (e.g. Selenium, Cucumber, and RestAssured) preferred
  • Java development experience preferred
