A position has come available for a Mineral Resources Practitioner (Draughtsman) in Limpopo. The ideal candidate needs to administer and provide design inputs for Mineral Resources drawings and mineral and prospecting rights applications.


Duties (will include but not limited to):  

Safety, Health, Environment and Quality

  • Participate and comply with SHEQ requirements (SHEQ Toolbox)


  • Ensure Customer Satisfaction

Business Processes

Geological Data:

  • Measure, plot and interpret area measurements within an underground workplace

Technical Drawings:

  • Provide and maintain two-dimensional CAD drawings for Mineral Resources
  • Convert Geological information into a CAD format
  • Develop and update Mineral Rights drawings
  • Maintain the drawing and filing system
  • Update DMR plans according to the requirements in Chapter 17   of the Mine Health and Safety Act,1996(Act no. 29 of 1996)


  • Conduct Drawing Office administration
  • Conduct Mineral Resources general administration
  • Control drawing updates and version control
  • Maintain stationary and office supply stock levels
  • Scan Mineral Resources reports

Shareholder Value

Financial Control:

  • Process Mineral Resources invoices


Minimum Requirements:

  • Degree or National Diploma
  • National Certificate: General Draughting
  • 5 years' relevant experience, 1 year supervisory experience



  • Operating computer systems
  • Operating CAD computer systems
  • Operating the SAP system
  • Maintain health, safety and security within the internal environment
  • Locate a surface geographical position by employing map-reading techniques
  • Read surface mining plans


  • Demonstrate basic knowledge and understanding of geology related to mining
  • Acquire an appreciation for the role of rock engineering in the mining
  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of ISO 9001
  • Demonstrate an advanced understanding of surveying techniques
